How To Keep Your Head In The Game

January 16, 2019 Leave a Comment

When was the last time you really showed up for yourself? What motivated you? What happened? Did you execute or did you let something hold you back? Was it fear of judgement or was it lack of belief in yourself OR lack of belief in whatever your idea is (or was)?

There’s only one answer as to why we don’t execute on or complete the things that once lit us up and the answer is that something inside of us that was once LIT UP is now dead inside.

Dead inside about a certain topic or idea is FINE based on the respect we’ve exhausted all avenues and efforts and decided whatever the once lit up topic is, is no longer in our best interest because we’ve executed and have evidence that the not-in-best-interest conclusion is accurate. I.e. the idea is not relevant or does not serve a material purpose that will yield the results emotionally and financially we seek. It’s pretty tough to draw the conclusion to halt a project because the world is FULL of solutions when you’re open, committed and really want whatever it is that’s lighting you up from the core.

Also, TIME has nothing to do with this. There is no “good time” to incorporate anything new into your life that you haven’t done before. Think about becoming diagnosed with an illness. The measures you “newly” get to incorporate into your daily routine aren’t easy and they are not convenient but if you don’t take action and make them happen, you might die. Same goes for anything you want in life but refuse to show up for and start doing. Perhaps a harsh contrast though it’s true in similarity and end result.

Life is all about solutions and trade-offs and the motivation cranks itself up when you really want whatever it is and want what that is MOST.

Another reason why you become dead inside to an idea is that once you start uncovering the pieces and steps it will take you to execute and materialize the idea, you begin to FEEL it’s “hard”. The thing is, if your idea and vision was easy, you’d already be living it and it would mean a lot less because the effort to achieve it would equate to a lesser output and in turn have lowered value associated with it.

Think about the feeling you have when you reach a goal. Rewind back to childhood when you worked hard, did a month’s worth of chores and maybe even saved years in order to buy something that was big to you at the time, i.e. for many children, a new bike. Think about the TIME associated with saving that money. Think about the WORK put in to earn the money. Think about the FEELING you had when you made that goal a reality and how much you enjoyed riding your bike, the EXPERIENCE that was a bi-product of the work you did, time you spent, money you earned and feeling of goal achievement you wanted.

You probably didn’t go through all those steps in mindset as a kid and maybe you had everything handed to you because your parents worked hard to be able to do that (and that too, I respect). Someone, somewhere along the line DID THE WORK.

Back to you being dead inside which is why the dreams you have die.

The dream doesn’t have to be career related. It can be the dream of having a fulfilling relationship and maybe family you’ve dreamed of having your whole life but something got in the way, shot you down, hurt you or made you believe having/achieving what you want (the amazing relationship and/or family) became out of reach or impossible. You’re drawing this conclusion based on experiences or results that didn’t have solutions applied to them. You stopped because it got hard.

Check in with yourself today and ask yourself what part of you is dead inside because something got hard and you gave up. Is it a career or hobby you gave up on because you couldn’t find the solution or someone told you it was ridiculous or not possible? Is it a relationship or health goal that has an experience from past leaving a bad taste in your mouth and you feel it’s safer to stay in the zone you’re in vs keeping going and seeing what’s possible?

I want you to think about that and TAKE ACTION now. Join me in the 5-day training I’m hosting where I will share with you how to create Clarity (of mind) that will bring you PEACE and support you getting the RESULTS you want in any area of your life.

Life is now! Don’t wait. See you there.
